Township Records, General Ledger, Meeting Minutes and Elections


The statutory responsibilities of the Clerk are to manage all Township records, maintaining the General Ledger, recording the minutes of the Township Board meetings and administering elections. Our office also processes the Township payroll, accounts payable, manages the human resources process, employee benefits, information technology, web site maintenance, cemetery management and oversees the maintenance of all Township facilities.

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

Thornapple Township public records are available either online or by request. It is the public policy of this state that citizens are entitled to full and complete information regarding the affairs of government and the official acts of those who represent them as public officials and public employees. The people shall be informed so that they may fully participate in the democratic process.

The following documents explain the process of requesting records from the Township, and any fees that may apply for assembly and delivery of physical records. Β All forms must be submitted to the Township Clerk.
